FAHRENHEIT 451

Book cover re-design for Ray Bradbury's classic novel Fahrenheit 451

I wanted to use elements fitting to the story, but in a way that wouldn't come off as cliche. Instead, I wanted to keep it simple with one element being obvious in reference and the other less so to those who have not yet read the novel. For the title's 451, I used a combination of photos, textures and layers of Photoshop effects all built on each other to create the final result. For the less obvious symbol, the salamander, I wanted it to be just that, by doing a spot uv black shine on top of the matte black cover that makes it just obvious enough to be noticed, but not overbearing.
